Message: My youngest child attended Country Day For Children, for the VPK program, and then transitioned to Educational Horizons Montessori Charter School (on the same property) to begin her elementary education. We were very pleased with the curriculum, all the teachers and staff, and especially the way they're involved with Educational Horizons Charter School, by promoting readiness for kindergarten, and are in good working relations with the staff at Educational Horizons as well. The teachers and director are wonderful with the children, and are great at what they do. You can tell everyone who works there truly enjoys being around children, and the children reciprocate those feelings and enjoy the presence of the teachers, and are in an environment where they will flourish academically and interpersonally. Having older children who had attended other schools in the area, and through my research before choosing a school, I've seen other preschool and VPK programs the seemed to hold little to no educational value, and were more like a babysitting service. Here, this is not the case. While your child will certainly have fun and learn through play, they will also develop the skills necessary to prepare them for elementary school because education is the focus.
